Principal Investigator

The principal investigator, Kimon Roussopoulos, holds a first class degree and PhD in engineering from Cambridge University (specialisms in mechanics, fluid mechanics, control and electronics), and joined industry after a successful academic career, mainly in fluid mechanics and automotive consultancy. In recent years he has worked as “Chief Scientist”, “Operations Director”, “Chief Research Officer” and “Head of R&D” in mainly Cambridge-based SMEs (product companies and consultancies). He has successfully lead and enabled the technical development of new products – in automotive engineering, smart metering, energy management and most recently medical engineering, among other fields. A British native, he has decades of experience as a consultant to industry.
